OMBC Member Resource Library

This library contains a variety of tools and resources for advocacy, stewardship, education, and creation of MTB trails. It is available for all OMBC members to use and an evolving resource lacking in some areas. Please email oregonmountainbikingcoalition@gmail.com if you have questions or a tool, graphic, or resource that would be helpful to share with other organizations around the state. MAPPING TOOLS

CalTopo
Useful for plotting multiple tracks, shapefiles, etc, and overlaying land management, topo, OSM, satellite, and other data.

Ride With GPS
Ride planning tool, simple and powerful way to publish routes and rides.

Google Earth
A helpful visual resource for seeing landscapes in 3D.

USGS Historic Quads
View historic quadrangle maps to find old trails.

Strava Heatmap
See user behavior patterns and rogue trails. Helpful for identifying demand or viability.

Trailforks
The standard for high-quality MTB trails database both on laptop or mobile. Also useful for recording trail conditions and volunteer maintenance hours.

MTB Project
Another MTB trails database.

USFS Interactive Trail Map
Shows trails that are “officially’ within the USFS system. This is the resource FS partners will be operating off of.

GAIA GPS
The most powerful and useful mobile mapping application. Works well offline for a variety of map types and importing/recording GPS tracks and waypoints.

OnX Maps
The best service for finding land ownership records.

Avenza
A common mapping mobile application that can host geo-referenced PDF maps.
